A sailor describes his experience in sailing while learning about regional sailing conditions in preparation for their 750-nautical-mile coastal trip south to Sydney, Kingfisher Bay. Kingfisher Bay, at Fraser Island, the world's largest sand island is designated as a World Heritage Site because of its unique ecology-subtropical rain forest with contrasting remarkable physical formations called 'sandblows'.

Article Abstract:
Dave and Jaja Martin, two sailors describe their experience while halting at Oriental as a staging ground for their next route. Oriental, North Carolina is a place where many sailors halt to ride out a storm or make repairs, while others take their time to form and fabricate entirely new dreams.
