Alkalosis and the plasma catecholamine response to high-intensity exercise in man
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted, which was aimed to examine the plasma dopamine response to a controlled bout of short-duration high-intensity exercise and investigate the magnitude of the plasma dopamine (DA), norepinephrine (NE) and epinephrine (EPI) responses to this exercise after induced alkalosis. The result proved that the performance of a controlled bout of high-intensity exercise did not alter the plasma dopamine concentration, and the alterations in the blood alkalosis did not influence the magnitude of the DA, NE or EPI responses to exercise.

Muscle deoxygenation and neural drive to the muscle during repeated sprint cycling
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to investigate muscle deoxygenation and neural drive-related changes during repeated cycling sprints in a fatiguing context. The results indicate that the ability to repeat short-duration sprints was associated with the occurrence of both peripheral and central fatigue.

Effects of induced metabolic alkalosis on prolonged intermittent-sprint performance
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to assess the effects of NaHCO3 ingestion on a prolonged, intermittent-spring test (IST). The results suggest that NaHCO3 ingestion can improve intermittent-sprint performance and may be a useful supplement for team-sport athletes.
