An investigation into the effects of sodium citrate ingestion on high-intensity exercise performance
Article Abstract:
Studies indicate that sodium citrate does not have an ergogenic impact on physcial exercise performance. Subjects who ingested sodium citrate solutions 90 minutes before exercising were compared against those who ingested a placebo. Although blood lactate concentrations rose markedly over the exercise trials, no differences between the two groups were noted between bouts.

Fluid-electrolyte balance during labor and exercise: concepts and misconceptions
Article Abstract:
Several strategies can be used to determine the amount of fluids needed to replace moisture lost during hard work or exercise. Research and tests should focus on the amount of water lost through sweating, and resulting formulas should account for high temperatures in addition to physical activity. These can be used to prevent dehydration and heat-related illnesses.

The effects of 'tribulus terrestris' on body composition and exercise performance in resistance-trained males
Article Abstract:
This study investigates the effects of tribulus terrestris, a herbal supplement, on exercise performance and body composition in athletic males. No significant differences were found between groups in weight, body fat, dietary intake, or body water, but the placebo group experienced greater improvements in muscle endurance.
