The Chicago Marathon was highly popular during the mid-1980s, but sponsors left the race and became more interest in the New York City Marathon. A turnaround appears to be occurring. The 1994 race, sponsors, purse and runners are discussed.

Happy trails
Article Abstract:
Trail running combines the enjoyment of running with the enjoyment of beautiful, natural surroundings. It also can present new challenges and opportunities in running. Fifty running trails, in 33 states, are described.
