Bismuth comes of age: the wait is finally over: waterfowlers now have a nontoxic legal alternative to steel shot
Article Abstract:
Bismuth cartridges have been perfected to the point where they provide a more effective pattern and longer killing range, comparable to those of steel shot. The bismuth shot has been combined with a small amount of tin and a bead buffer is used. The cost, however, may be over $2 a shot.

Majority of Americans are still using pumpguns in clay target and live bird competitions as well as fowl hunting. This can be attributed to the excellent reliability and controllability of this type of shotgun.
