Many women professional golfers gain a lot of emotional support from their families, but in many cases brothers have played a big role in shaping their competitive instincts. Many LPGA Tour members grew up competing with their brothers at an early age and they give credit to them for their love and support.

Some female golfers enjoy staying with host families while on tour. This arrangement saves money and provides the players with emotional support. Some players have to endure minor problems, such as being locked out of the house or being asked to give golf tips to their hosts.
