C1: a beemer for the city

BMW has introduced the 125cc C1 motor scooter with an innovative roof in 1992. The roof was designed to provide protection for the rider. The scooter also has two shoulder harnesses. Tests have proven its safety features such that regulatory agencies in Germany may not require helmets.

Honda MX: big troubles at Big Red

The 1997 American Motorcycle Assn Supercross marked the first time that a Honda factory rider failed to win a 250cc main event since 1981. Corporate downsizing, poor treatment of riders and a general smugness are among the factors blamed for the poor show.
