A study of 131 women who had passed the rapid bone-mineral loss period after the onset of menopause found that increased calcium intake can have a more beneficial effect than previously thought.

A medical study demonstrates that a high calcium intake can reduce PMS symptoms. Participants whose daily diets included at least 1,300 milligrams of calcium reported less irritability.
