Nutrient intakes and dietary behaviors of male and female collegiate athletes
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to assess the dietary intakes and behaviors of male and female collegiate athletes. The result showed that only 15% and 26% of athletes had adequate intakes of carbohydrates and protein respectively and male were more likely to exceed the dietary guidelines for fat, saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium than females and 62% of female athletes wanted to lose at least 5 lbs compared to 23% of males.

Effect of carbohydrate intake during recovery from eccentric exercise on interleukin-6 and muscle-damage markers
Article Abstract:
The effect of carbohydrate supplementation during the first 2 d postexercise recovery on inflammation and muscle damage responses is determined. It is observed that increased consumption of carbohydrate does not spoil or boost the immune and muscle responses.
