Veronica Ploude who paid $5 for intro course at a community sailing center in Florida is now licensed captain and a director of the Duxbury Bay Maritime School, a community sailing program in Massachusetts that introduces hundreds of people to the sport each year. A brief description on some of the training center presented includes Duxbury Bay Maritime School, the School of Sailing and Seamanship in California, and Milwaukee Community Sailing Center.

Dawn Riley is an expert yachtswoman, television commentator and winner of many races and President of the Women's Sports Foundation. She enjoys sailing in her 1986 Passport 40 boat called Wanderbird, a cruiser from Taiwan.

John Moseley bought a fast Melges 24 sailboat after being the world's most famous freestyle aerialist in 2002. He plans to be in competitive sailing, along with hosting MTV shows and resuming undergraduate studies.
