The two-day conference conducted in November 1997 by the US Tennis Association in Florida highlighted various means by which tennis can be improved in the future. Aside from financial development, participants were urged to initiate programs for the aged and less-privileged.

Fear: the ultimate opponent
Article Abstract:
Tennis players who wish to improve their game must learn to cope efficiently with fear. Doing so requires a player to determine the strength and weaknesses of his dominate personality trait. They are also advised to play open-mindedly while maintaining emotional control.

Creation of systematic training programs and nationwide support to junior tennis teams are some of the things needed to motivate future American tennis champions. Motivating children to participate in tennis programs requires teachers to make the sport fun to learn.
