Coq de Leon
Article Abstract:
Coq de Leon, a bird with hackle prized for its exceptional color, mottling, stiffness and translucency is found in the province of Leon in northwest Spain, one of the most important trout regions in the country. Coq de Leon makes artificial flies come to life both underwater and on the surface and the stiffness of the hackle creates constant vibration that mimics a natural insect's struggle to reach the surface. It is expected that flies tied with this Spanish hackle will continue to attract both tiers and trouts.
