Cruising World's 2006 Boat of the Year Awards had 42 entrants, 26 nominees, seven class winners, four days of dockside inspections, four days of sea trials, 30-knot gusts, a handful of spinouts and one flying hull. The winners were the Morris 42 as Domestic Cruising Boat of the Year, and the Hallberg-Rassy 62 as the Import Cruising Boat of the Year.

Boat Review: A rollicking good ride

Willy Dehler has built a sail boat Dehler 39 that allows middle class people to cruise. The Dehler 41 DS was the winner of Cruising World's Overall Boat of the year award in the year 1998. Some of the features of Dehler 39 are polyester resin, substantial ring frames taking the loads from the rig, and the laminated hull/deck joint.
