Daily primary school physical education: effects on physical activity during adult life
Article Abstract:
Daily physical education classes at the primary level seem to have long-term health effects on men and women. A group of 147 Canadians who had a daily physical education class for their first 6 years of school in the 1970s were located and completed surveys about their levels of health and physical activity. The women in this group showed significantly higher levels of activity and health than women outside the group, and men in the group showed fewer tendencies to become regular smokers.

Tracking of physical activity from childhood to adulthood
Article Abstract:
The relationships between adult physical activity (PA) at 35 years and PA as a child, and the influence of enhanced primary school physical education and of parental PA upon long-term tracking of PA in the offspring are discussed. The results indicate a positive impact of early required physical education upon adult PA but provide little evidence of an overall association between time spent in other categories of PA during childhood and PA as an adult.

Validity of a modified CHAMPS physical activity questionnaire among African-Americans
Article Abstract:
Results show that evaluation of the physical activity based on the modified CHAMPS physical activity questionnaire with regard to treadmill estimates of oxygen consumption indicates its validity to be higher for more intensive physical activities. Data point out that CHAMPS may be useful to assess physical activity among African-Americans.
