Chronic wasting disease which is a form of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy has been found among the Western deer and elk population in the United States. Concern is increasing that this deadly disease can be transferred to humans where it is incurable.

Sandhill deer
Article Abstract:
A project to research whitetail deer behavior in the Sandhill Wildlife Area, WI, is described. The project which has been operating for thirty years has led to controlled hunting, identified the deers' traits and produced bigger bucks.

Perrier - bottled up in Wisconsin
Article Abstract:
Perrier Group of America has withdrawn plant for a bottling plant in northern Wisconsin, and is instead trying to win approval for a Big Rapids, Michigan site. Fisherman worried about environmental impacts in both regions.
