Physical activity assessed by activity monitor and doubly labeled water in children
Article Abstract:
This article evaluates the accuracy of an activity monitor in assessing the daily energy expenditure of school children for two weeks. Results indicate that expenditure estimates obtained through the activity monitor and the doubly labeled water method were highly correlated and were influenced by body composition, gender, and activity level.

Effect of monitor placement and of activity setting on the MTI accelerometer output
Article Abstract:
The impact of monitor placement and of activity setting on the output from the Manufacturing Technology Inc. (MTI) is examined. The findings indicate that, the MTI activity monitor data assessed during normal routine activities are comparable irrespective of the placement.
