Energy balance in young athletes
Article Abstract:
The energy needs of young athletes must be more carefully studied. Energy balance is that state where energy intake equals energy expenditure. Young athletes who are continuing to grow must make sure their energy intake meets the demands of their bodies and their sports. The needs of young athletes are different from adult athletes. The recommended dietary allowance for energy for active teenagers may be too high. However, young athletes may not be underinformed about nutrition and fail to obtain adequate energy for their athletic activities from their diet.

Effects of amino acid supplementation on muscle soreness and damage
Article Abstract:
The effect of an amino acid supplement on muscle soreness and damage by two endurance bouts of the elbow flexors or placebo supplementation in a double blind crossover design is investigated. It is suggested that amino acid supplementation attenuates delayed onset muscle soreness and muscle damage when ingested in recovery days.
