Energy expenditure in men and women during 54 h of exercise and caloric deprivation
Article Abstract:
A study aims to characterize and compare the total energy expenditure (TEE) and core temperature responses in men and women working almost continuously for 54 hours in an outdoor environment while developing a substantial energy deficit. Results show that, for both men and women, total energy expenditures (TEE) were among the highest observed for a military field training exercise (FEX), and that TEE, when normalized or corrected to body mass and fat-free mass, and physical activity level were the same for both sexes.

Effects of muscle damage induced by eccentric exercise on muscle fatigue
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to determine to what extent muscle damage induced by repetitive eccentric exercise with maximal voluntary effort affects the time course of central and peripheral fatigue during sustained maximal voluntary contraction (MVC). Also, the effect of muscle damage on peripheral fatigue estimated by the ratio of the electromyographic (EMG) to the voluntary force was examined.

The influence of caffeine on voluntary muscle activation
Article Abstract:
The effects of caffeine on voluntary muscle activation and the central mechanisms that may enhance activation are discussed. The result suggests that caffeine affects motor unit activation at several sites along the motor pathway.
