Everybody loves a pheasant
Article Abstract:
A personal appreciation of pheasant hunting in the United States is presented from a former forester and wildlife manager, who has hunted pheasant for over 40 years. He believes that the best hunting is achieved with a trained dog, especially in locating hiding birds.

Bitter cold, record snows and devastating floods battered the Dakotas this winter, reducing pheasant numbers by 42% below 1995 flock levels. However, goose and duck populations are very high, and game officials in both states downplay talk of a disaster.
