Exercise-related lower leg pain: vascular
Article Abstract:
Vascular exercise-related lower leg pain is discussed with presentation of two case studies. Vascular causes of such pain are rare and difficult to diagnose, the pain being very like that of compartment syndrome and nerve entrapment. The practitioner must have a high index of suspicion based on clinical experience. Examination after exercise of the peripheral pulses and arterial bruits is key. Doppler ultrasound, ankle-brachial ratios and angiography can be used for confirming the diagnosis. Compartment pressure tests an nerve conduction studies may be important.

The dynamics of concussive head impacts in rugby and Australian rules football
Article Abstract:
This article uses video recordings to examine the dynamics of concussive head injuries that result from impacts during Australian rules football and rugby games. Findings indicate that head impacts most frequently occur in the tempero-parietal region and that other players' arms and shoulders are common striking objects.
