Factors related to rapid weight loss practices among international-style wrestlers
Article Abstract:
A study to understand the rapid weight loss (RWL) techniques used by international wrestlers which can be life threatening is undertaken by examining rapid weight gain (RWG) index. Results highlight that wrestlers gained an average of 3.4 kg, which is 4.81% of body weight and that excessive running, using saunas and wearing vapor-impermeable suits are the methods used to achieve RWL.
