Golf course conditions are an overlooked factor in the increased distance of tee shots by PGA tour professionals. Golf equipment technology is cited as the primary reason for longer distances, but a strong case can also be made for the closely-cut fairways that clearly add distance to tee shots.

Black market Masters
Article Abstract:
The general public has been unable to buy Masters tickets since 1972, and some tickets are sold to brokers even though tournament officials have outlawed the practice. Prices for scalped tickets went as high as $10,000 at the 1997 event.
