The coast of the Florida Panhandle between Lighthouse Point and Panama City is a rich fishing ground for shallow-water gamefish, even during the winter months. Redfish and trout invade creek and river mouths in cold weather. Tarpon are abundant in summer.

Livewell strategy

Baitfish are most effective when they are alive and well. A livewell with an open system is best for preserving the vitality of baitfish. Such a system circulates water at a rate which effectively removes wastes and brings in oxygen.
