The Arthritis Foundation found that 62% of arthritics enjoy gardening, and the foundation advises gardeners to use elevated planters and weed only when the weeds are well-wetted. Techniques for lessening pressure on joints are also given.

Men with a higher intake of vitamin C had a 41% lower death rate compared with men who have a lower intake of the vitamin over a 10-year period. Other benefits of high intakes of vitamin C by men and women are discussed.
