Gender differences in anaerobic power of the arms and legs - A scaling issue
Article Abstract:
A study compares the anaerobic performance in both arms and legs of men and women using allometric scaling. The present findings show that after properly accounting for anthropometrical differences, the lower limb anaerobic power output for men and women is qualitatively similar whereas there is some advantage for the male in the production of power generated by the upper body musculature but confirmatory evidence using noninvasive techniques is warranted.
