Get a grip
Article Abstract:
Testing of over 150 Tour players with a dynamometer shows that there is a correlation between hand strength, clubface control and clubhead speed, resulting an improved distance and consistency. An average of 60 kilograms of force per hand are applied by the world's best players, and players with the strongest and fastest swing speeds have a grip of 75 kilograms or more. Amateurs can improve their hand strength by squeezing a grip ball for 10 minute intervals and doing wrist curls with a dumbbell.
