Article Abstract:
A lifelong fondness for nuts is described. All kinds of nuts are delicious, with the possible exception of peanuts which are are not real nuts anyway. However, most nuts, except chestnuts, are oily, even though two-thirds of the fat in almonds is monounsaturated.

Food served at the first Thanksgiving had nowhere near the amount of fat that is found in dishes served in the 1990s. Recipes and menus for low-fat Thanksgiving dishes that still taste good are provided.
