Measuring propellers alignment can now be determined with a device developed by Australia-based Propeller Dynamics. A computerized pitchmeter can determine the accuracy of a propeller. Prices for the prop scans are free, but readjustments may be as much as $440 per propeller.

Don't neglect the blade area

The blade area of a boat's propellers must be great enough to absorb the engine's power or cavitation will result. A formula for calculating the minimum blade are need by the average boat is presented.
