Creaming cold sores: a new drug gives cold sores the cold shoulder

Article Abstract:

The drug penciclovir has been shown to be effective against cold sores. The drug, which is marketed under the commercial name of Denavir, was used in cream and applied to the cold sore. The sores that were so-treated generally healed in about 17-24 hours.
