The cyclists encounters a lot of reckless and impolite drivers while biking. This affects a cyclists' mood and safety. Motorists who utilize their cellular phones while driving present a potential hazard for a cyclist. Indiscriminate use of the car horn, sideswiping and reckless overtaking are the main causes of bike-related accidents.

Article Abstract:
Only 20% of on-road bicycling accidents involve cars and 90% of these happen at intersections. Most off-road biking accidents happen because of the rider's tendency to look at the obstacle he wants to avoid and tipping caused by the inability to release immediately from clipless pedals.

Most of the accidents involving bicycles are caused by the cyclists themselves. They are caused by a cyclist's inattention and lack of caution to potentially dangerous situations such as slippery roads and obstacles.
