Counterterrorism measures by the United States include guarding its own coastlines, and hence sailors using U.S. coastal waters need to be aware that unusual restrictions may be in place. Some of these restrictions are discussed, although they may be altered at any time, so are sailors are always advised to periodically log on to the U.S. Coast Guard website to monitor any last-minute changes.
