Many US states and Canadian provinces have new laws requiring hunters to have passed a hunting safety course before being issued a license. This is often for those 16-years-old and younger, but some places require that all hunters pass a course. A chart details these locations.

The Wild Turkey Hunting Safety Task Force has discovered the need to implement walk-through techniques to avoid turkey hunting accidents. The training is done through the use of computer-based interactive teaching techniques.
