Turk Pipkin, a golfer for 40 years, resolved to shave ten strokes off his handicap and break 80 at Pebble Beach committing himself a year for this quest. However, with just five months left for his yearlong golf quest he accepted a role in a movie called The Alamo that he could not resist.

San Antonio, TX, has an abundance of public golf courses and other tourist attractions. Spring and fall are the best seasons for golfers to visit. Nine golf courses are described, including Pecan Valley Golf Club and Cedar Creek Golf Course. Hotels and restaurants are also discussed.

Alamo City aces

Visitors to San Antonio, TX, can enjoy playing golf in addition to seeing the Alamo. The city has more than a half a dozen courses, as well as excellent restaurants, hotels and a thriving night life.
