The basics of intake flow in a four-stroke motorcycle engine are discussed. The key in filling cylinders lies in shifting energy from the piston to high-speed airflow entering the cylinder, then using it to supercharge the cylinder, yielding higher volumetric efficiency and increased power.

World Superbike looks to lower costs
