The United States Golf Association (USGA) makes exceptions to its rule that requires that all of its members must be affiliated with a golf course in order to receive a handicap index. Golfers can bypass this requirement by forming golf clubs that simply follow certain USGA requirements.

Bell of the ball
Article Abstract:
One of the all-time greats of women's golf will play host to the 1996 US Women's Open. The Open will be played in North Carolina at the Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club, a course that was built in 1953 by golfing great Peggy Kirk Bell and her late husband Warren Bell.
