A sailboat named 'Volcano' manned by an all-women crew ran out of fuel in the middle of the Pacific Ocean while trying to sail from Hawaii to California. They were helped by the freighter 'Sealand Challenger' that gave them adequate fuel.

An asymmetric spinmaker, called as cruising chutes can be turned into a versatile sail. Some tips are provided on how to extend the range of a crusing chute and the best way is to pole its track out to windward.
