Kedges and dinghies
Article Abstract:
The noble art of laying out a kedge can be used to limit the boat's sheering about when the sailor is anchoring close to a rock or other dangers, to restrict swinging arc in a tight anchorage, and for added security when the wind is expected to increase or change direction. The common mistakes made in laying out a kedge are discussed.
