Research indicates that calcium consumption during pregnancy can reduce the risk of both high blood pressure and preeclampsia, two of the most serious complications of pregnancy. Consumption of 1,500 to 2,000 mg of calcium each day can reduce the risk of high blood pressure by 70% and preeclampsia by 62%.

Researchers have discovered that lead in cue chalk can reach levels that far exceed those considered safe. Only foreign-made green cue chalk and one brand of orange chalk seem to be too high in lead content.
