The Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act, which would come into effect on 1st January 2006, requires all food producers to list ingredients in plain English. The bill includes guidelines for usage of various terms like gluten-free, and proper details of the ingredients which is the primary cause of various allergies, and which the labels hide.
