Laxity, instability, and functional outcome after ACL injury: copers versus noncopers
Article Abstract:
Measurements for maximum manual anterior tibiofemoral laxity in patients who had suffered complete severance of the anterior cruciate ligament revealed no significant difference for those who recuperated well after the injury and those who needed surgical stabilization. Forty-five patients were analyzed in the study. Patients had a keen sense of how stable the ligament was even without access to confirming tests. Post-injury tests can identify those who will recover well and those who will need surgical stabilization.

Biomechanical analysis of the deadlift during the 1999 Special Olympics World Games
Article Abstract:
A study of the biomechanics of techniques used by power lifters in the Special Olympics Games in 1999 showed that the style known as sumo lifting is done with a straighter back and may be less prone to injury than conventional lifting. Keeping the bar close to the body created less stress in both styles.
