Left ventricular function in endurance-trained children by tissue Doppler imaging
Article Abstract:
Standard echocardiography (left ventricular (LV) morphology and function) and tissue Doppler imaging (LV relaxation properties) were assessed' to evaluate whether the LV morphologic and functional alterations responsible for this increase in cardiac filling are similar in children and young adults. It is concluded that in both children and adults, an increase in LV relaxation properties and normal LV filling pressures in endurance-trained subjects might be taken as additional indicators for a physiologic or 'normal' hypertrophy.

Femoral and axillary ultrasound blood flow during exercise: A methodological study
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to assess relationship between exercise intensity and changes in femoral and axillary artery diameter, to determine if volume blood flow measured during early recovery correctly shows exercise blood flow (BF) and to assess influence of artery caliber and/or site as well as exercise intensity on blood flow measurement reproducibility. The results showed that BF measurements with Doppler ultrasound during exercise is reproducible but requires measurements of arterial diameter at each workload.

Race and sex similarities in exercise-induced changes in blood lipids and fatness
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to explore sex and race differences in the association between changes in fat mass (FM), abdominal visceral fat (AVF), and abdominal subcutaneous fat (ASF) on blood lipid changes consequent to aerobic exercise training. The multivariate associations among fat loss and changes in blood lipids consequent to aerobic exercise training are similar in African American and white men and women.
