When power goes south

Yachtsmen always experience engine breakdown as they enter the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida. This is not because of the warm weather, rather this is caused by the strange fuel the boat takes in when stopping for refueling. To solve this problem, the engine tanks should be cleaned or the fuel filters changed.

Long, lone ranger: globe trotter Bruce Kessler makes it look easy

Kessler's circumnavigational skill was evident in the way he designed the Spirit of Zopilote, a 64' Northern Marine long-range trawler. The boat was intended to fish without a large crew which explained its five helm stations and its hydraulic system.
