The population of mule deer in Colorado is so large that trophy-size animals can be seen from public roads, but the unpredictability of Colorado's weather makes hunting them in season more difficult than expected. Successful hunters must recognize the patterns of public land.

Recalling elk

Hunting elk can be aided by spooking them and using a cow call to help them congregate. The elk are likely to respond to the call unless they sense the hunter. Ways to successfully use calls are presented.

The honeymoon hunt
