Metal-lipped crankbaits for bass
Article Abstract:
Metal-lipped crankbaits, which fell out of bass-fishing favor in the mid-1980s, are staging a comeback for the simple reason that they work. The bodies of the lures produce a slow, broad movement that larger bass seem to find tempting. Crankbaits are available in sizes up to an ounce.

Bass fishers who fish in areas such as featureless points may be more successful if they use a split shot rigged with a plastic worm. One effective fishing technique is to use a 3/0 split shot in place of the tip of the stickbait.
