Declarative knowledge in sport: a by-product of experience or a characteristic of expertise?
Article Abstract:
Declarative knowledge is a part of skill rather than a result of experience and familiarity. The expert's superior declarative knowledge is gained and processed at the time of performance. The study highlights the benefits of using a multitask approach to evaluate expertise in sport. The study was carried out on experienced high-skill and low skill soccer players and physically disabled spectators on the basis of recall, recognition, and anticipation ability.
