A bad feeling for a tennis player arises when instead of enjoying a satisfying victory one is forced to accept an agonizing defeat as even the best players have to grapple with it and the fact is that human beings when faced with danger are overcome with a 'fight or flight' impulse. The four tricks that help players overcome their nerves and play best under pressure are to change the game one is playing, distract oneself, develop a routine and use one's imagination.
