Modulation of immune response by the acute and chronic exposure to high altitude
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to evaluate whether acute and chronic hypoxia differently modulates the in vivo immune responses. The results indicated that the in vivo exposure to high altitude (HA) leads to an impairment of the homeostatic regulation of Th1/Th2 immune balance that potentially could favor long-term immunological alterations and increase the risk of infections.

Eighty-four hours of sustained operations alter thermoregulation during cold exposure
Article Abstract:
The effects of short-term sustained military operations on thermoregulatory responses to cold stress are examined. Results indicated that sustained military operations led to greater declines in core temperature, due to lag in the initial shivering response or heat redistribution secondary to an insulative acclimation.

Plantar loading and cadence alterations with fatigue
Article Abstract:
Research reveals that runners change running technique and plantar surface when fatigued. Results are based on a study of 11 females and 8 males. Topics include cadence, forefoot loading, and pressure distribution on the foot.
