Experts find that serious depression can be lifted by regular exercise. Working out brings about happier, calmer and more optimistic feelings. Because drugs are not effective for everyone, physical activity is being recommended. Exercise may also enhance the benefits of medication or prevent the onset of depression.

Olive oil is favored by nutritionists because even with lavish use in Greece, Greeks have the world's lowest rate of heart disease. Olive oil, canola, safflower and peanut oils have monounsaturated fatty acids which lower total cholesterol. Polyunsaturated fats and cancer have been linked in animal studies.
