Lynn Jennings, who won a 10,000-meter bronze medal in the 1992 Olympics, is anticipating and working for another trip to the Olympics in 1996. In addition to her 10,000-meter work, Jennings has won three World Cross-Country titles, and is giving thought to future marathon competitions.

Regina Jacobs, a runner in the 1,500 meters event, believes she is ready to become an Olympic champion. Jacobs had two unsuccessful Olympic experiences, but she has learned from them. Jacobs won the outdoor US title four times, and won the World Indoor title in 1995.

Frank Shorter relates that he expected his life to change when he won the 1972 Olympic Marathon, but he had no idea that running would become so popular. He still runs 60 to 70 miles each week and finds running is a centering activity.
