Overtraining
Article Abstract:
Exercise physiologist Ann Snyder conducted a two-week test on 10 cyclists to see what effects overtraining would have on their athletic performance. She found that both their sleeping and maximum heart rates declined, and general performance was weakened. Training guidelines are given.

A physician recommends a diet of 40% carbohydrate, 30% protein and 30% fat to provide energy for intense activities such as bicycle racing. The diet works to regulate the production of insulin. Health aspects of the diet are examined.
